If you look at the specifications tab above you will see there are two tensile strengths available. We supply the 1960 strength as standard due to it being a little harder, thus more crush resistant. We also offer the 1770 strength on request should you need a softer option.

Winch Cable Construction and Benefits

The 7x19 construction indicates 7 strands, with each strand having 19 individual wires. This design creates a more flexible rope that is ideal for winching applications. With 133 total wires, 8mm 7x19 cable provides good flexibility compared to cables with fewer, thicker wires, making it easier to handle and wind on drums.

Having been galvanized ,the zinc coating protects the steel from corrosion, thus extending service life in harsher environments.

8mm Rope End Termination Options

One end comes professionally fused and tapered to prevent fraying and unravelling whilst creating a smooth, compact termination.

At the other end of the winch rope there are a few options to choose from. The majority of fittings will be secured into a thimble eye. The thimble is secured with a ferrule under extreme pressure in our press machines which creates a strong and structured termination.

Hook assemblies are very popular terminations and incorporate a safety hook with latch fitted onto a thimble eye termination. This set up enables quick and secure connections. Another option is to simply have a thimble eye which allows you to connect other hardware of your choosing. Shackles are the third option – again fitted into a thimble eye, these offer a removable anchor point and can easily be swapped out for something else.
