Compacted wire rope is rope which has been constructed in a similar way to other steel wire ropes, except it has been tightly compacted together which has additional benefits. If you want to find out more about the benefits of this type of construction, please read on below where you will find information regarding the 6x36 IWRC Compacted Wire Rope. Rope Services Direct can supply many different diameters from 8mm to 52mm.
6x36 refers to the number of strands and wires within each strand within the rope respectively. The IWRC refers to ‘independent wire rope core’, which means another construction of wire rope will sit at the centre core. This wire core will have its own construction, typically 7x7, which refers to 7 strands with 7 wires. This means that you will effectively be left with a rope that is 6x36 + 7x7.
Each outer strand is run through a special machine in order to compact it tightly
together.

These benefits mean that 6x36 IWRC compacted wire rope is perfect for heavier lifting applications, or operations that have high breaking loads.
