Our 6x36 fibre core galvanized steel wire rope is an excellent general-purpose rope. You can also buy the 6x36 wire core galvanized steel cable in a range of diameters from 6mm up to 52mm. (8mm to 12mm for online purchase).
The 6x36 galvanized steel wire rope is made up of 6 strands, with 36 wires per strand. The strands are twisted around either a fibre core of a wire core depending on your choice.
6 x 36 fibre core rope is a high strength rope with great flexibility. It can be used for a wide range of applications such as general crane ropes, construction projects and other general engineering applications. The most popular diameters of 6 x 36 wire rope range from 8 mm to 12 mm and are available for online purchase; up to 52mm diameters available on request. Fibre core rope offers good shock resistance but less crush resistance.
If you’re looking for a rope with optimum strength but still quite flexible you might want to consider our 6x36 wire core galvanized rope. This 6x36 wire rope has a 7x7 independent wire core and offers great crush resistance and fatigue life, and are ideal for winches, hoists and pulleys or where frequent bending over sheaves and drums.
Available in the same diameters as the fibre core version in almost any length.
Our 6x36 wire core galvanized rope is made up of 6 strands with 36 wires per strand. This greater number of strands per wire ensures the rope has an excellent fatigue resistance albeit with lower crush resistance due to the softer core. Thanks to its flexibility this rope has an incredibly varied range of uses. Typically in lifting, winching and crane operations. It can also be used for wire rope rigging applications.
The independent wire rope core option provides the rope with more strength, higher breaking load and durability than a 6 x 36 wire rope with fibre core. This in turn allows the rope to be flexible whilst still maintaining a high breaking strain. 6 x 36 ropes with a wire core are much less susceptible to crushing and this risk can be further minimised by using well designed sheaves and grooved drums.
This wire-rope has an equal lay construction where all of the wires & strands have the exact same length of lay, formed in a single operation and forms a strand of high metallic content giving it its superior breaking load.
