Endless Flat Web Slings – The key Benefits

Manufactured from a continual loop of high tenacity polyester webbing with a safety factor of 7:1 you can be assured of quality, strong and resilient lifting slings.

Colour coded in line with the usual industry standards to ensure easy identification to reduce the risk of mistakes being made.

The endless construction eliminates the weak points found on a typical sling with an eye at each end. This is because an endless flat web sling can be rotated so that the high stress points can be moved for each lift, thus ensuring more even wear and increase its working life.

The polyester used for these webbing slings has some great properties including resistance to rust, moisture, briny conditions and some chemicals. They are soft and easy to handle whilst offering protection to your load due to there being no sharp edges.

Endless Flat Webbing Slings Available

At Rope Services Direct we can offer the full range of flat webbing slings in the endless format. We typically supply the simplex(single thickness) slings in up to 10 tonne capacities; Duplex available on request. The width of the sling varies between capacities, for example a yellow – 3 tonne sling will be 90mm wide whereas a blue – 8 tonne sling will be 240mm wide.

The width is important to note when ordering to ensure they will fit into any other hardware you may be using in your lifting operation.

Endless Sling Uses

Endless slings are used in many areas from construction sites to warehouses; logistics to marine areas and many more. There are three different hitch types which can be used for endless slings.

Firstly is the standard straight/vertical lift where full capacities can be achieved.

Next we have the choke hitch where the sling is wrapped around the load and anchored back on itself. These will need a small reduction to the stated load capacity due to the nature of the hitch and where the forces are applied. Lastly we have the basket hitch which is where the sling cradles the load but is anchored to the lifting apparatus at two sling points. This will essentially double the WLL if the sling is anchored vertically. If the basket hitch forms an angle this will also affect the WLL. If the angle is between 0 and 45 degrees from vertical the WLL will be more than for a standard vertical or choke lift but less than a straight basket hitch. If the degree of the angle is between 45 and 60 the WLL goes back to the same as for a vertical lift.
