Wire Rope Loop Clamp Material Finish

These loop clamps can be supplied by Rope Services Direct in two different material finishes to suit different environmental factors. The zinc plated clamps provide good corrosion resistance for general indoor and light outdoor tasks. The stainless-steel option, on the other hand delivers the best durability and corrosion resistance, thus ideal in marine environments, coastal areas, or any high moisture area.  

Rope Loop Clamp Sizes

Wire rope loop clamps are available in just two sizes;

Small 1.5mm Loop Clamps: These wire rope clamps feature a single grub screw design and are good for thinner wire rope applications. The single grub screw provides will bite into the wires and provide adequate holding power for smaller diameter wires These clamps require a 2mm Allen / hex key for installation and adjustment (not supplied).

Large 3mm Loop Clamps: For use with slightly thicker 3mm diameter rope, thus heavier duty tasks, the 3mm clamps incorporate double grub screws for optimum grip on the wire rope. A 3mm Allen / hex key (not supplied) is necessary to properly tighten and adjust these larger clamps.

Wire Rope Loop Clamp Uses and Practicalities

Please note – NOT load rated, thus should not be used for lifting or critical load bearing scenarios.

One of the main practicalities of these loop clamps is their ease and speed of use; in fact, they enable the quickest way to create a temporary loop / eye in your rope. If you need a little more rigidity to the eye, you can add a steel thimble, before tightening the clamp, a thimble will also protect the rope from abrasive wear.

Common uses of these rope loop clamps are in the home and garden, examples include, but are not limited too:- trellis work, plant training, temporary barriers, decorative features or highlighting specific areas. The design means they look quite sleek and minimalist, when compared to other methods of rope clamp  type terminations.
