At Rope Services Direct we sell 6x36 construction wire rope in diameters from 6mm right up to 52mm. This 13mm 6x36 compacted wire rope product is at the narrower end of the scale, but still delivers a great crush resistant rope with respectable load-lugging abilities in its own right.
The 6 bundles of 36 wires that surround the central core of supremely sturdy steel that make up this 13mm rope
are impressive enough on paper. But since they have been compacted, they boast a better breaking load than other
equivalents of the same diameter. With a sleek outer surface caused by this process, they also create less
friction and suffer less fatigue over time.
Handling compacted cable is a nicer experience than handling standard wire rope. Its all thanks to the compacting process which produces a rather sleek outer surface. Its smoothness makes gliding over sheaves and hands effortless, they also look nicer.
