20000kg Web Sling – 2 Tonne Webbing Sling Details

Due to the high safe working loads for these slings they are available in 3 or 4 ply as opposed to the typical 2 ply duplex slings. Manufactured from high strength, 100% polyester for optimum strength and resilience.

Tried and tested with certification available our 20000kg webbing slings have a 7:1 safety factor which means the minimum breaking load is 7 times the stated WLL. They comply to BS EN 1492-1.

Every sling incorporates an identity label which includes much information including WLL, manufacture date, trace code, length and a simple load chart, so along with the orange colour to indicate a higher load our slings have good identifiable features and information to hand.

About Hitch Types and Lengths

Our 20 tonne web slings are available in 4 different lengths which are 4, 6, 8 and 10 metres. They can be used in the typical hitch types although the Working Load Limit will need to be altered for some types.

These larger slings are generally used in straight, vertical lifts or a straight sided (less than 2%-angles) basket hitch. Angled lifting typically occurs in basket hitches on large loads when anchored back to a single loading point. There are a different set of WLL's for angles under 45 degrees and for those between 45-60 degrees. See the specifications above for full details.

Extra Sling Protection

For all types of lifting slings that regularly incur stresses on a particular point along the sling can wear more quickly in these high wear locations. To extend the working life of your sling you may wish to add a protective sleeve. Rope Services Direct can manufacture heavy duty wear sleeves to suit your sling. They can be slipped on and moved along its length to the high stress point, thus providing the additional protection required.
