Viper Horizontal Plate Lifting Clamp Basics

Horizontal clamps must always be used in pairs at the very minimum, for larger sheet materials more may be beneficial for load stability. Two clamps are easy to use with a 2 leg chain sling or a 4 leg if you are using 4 clamps. The chain angle should be no more than 90 degrees.

Bear in mind the size of the jaw opening varies between the model capacities so consult the specifications above to find out the specifics for each model. Both jaws have a serrated edge for optimum grip.

These plate clamps have a minimum breaking load at 4 x WLL and come with a matt black finish.

Important points

It is worth noting that the steel sheets will need to be HRC 27 hardness or below in order for the jaws to clamp correctly and safely.

There is a minimum load capacity which must be adhered to; this is 20% of the stated working load limit and you should never try to lift below this rate.

The Viper should only be used to lift ONE plate at a time.
