About the Camlok CH Horizontal Plate Clamp
The Camlok CH plate clamps are always used in pairs at the very minimum, for larger sheets more are often used to ensure load stability and to help prevent sheets from flexing. Spreader beams are typically used when multiple clamps are used so that they can be evenly positioned around the sheet whilst keeping the sling angle below the maximum 45 degrees.
Used for lifting single or multiple sheets in a horizontal position. Single sheets must be a minimum 5mm thick. When it comes to multiples the sheets must be of the same thickness with straight sides, the pack should be thicker than 10% of the jaws opening capacity/size.
The standard smooth jaw option can be used with all types of sheet materials as long as they can withstand the forces imposed by the clamp. The same goes for serrated jaws with the additional stipulation that the surface hardness is below 32HRC (Brinell 300).
You must ensure the weight of your plate/s exceeds the minimum load allowed which is stamped on the side of the clamp for easy reference.
Please refer to the specifications tab above for all the technical data.
Clamps for different lifting orientations
These clamps are for lifting plates horizontally or flat only. We have a number of other plate clamps which can handle plates in a vertical orientation as well as universal clamps which can handle sheets in both positions, ideal for lifting sheets from flat to vertical and visa versa.
Delta, Viper and Camlok are the branded clamps we stock as they are well tried, tested and trusted.
