Deltafor Cable Pulling Machine Models
Each or the 3 models available has 2 different capacities – one is the maximum WLL for lifting and one is the maximum pulling capacity. These capacities are for when the cable from the main body is in a straight line with the loading hook.
With a little experience and knowledge it is possible to further increase lifting and pulling capacities. This is done by using sheave blocks or pulleys between the machine and the load hook. Using this sheave block technique you may also change the direction of the pull or lift.
The smallest Deltafor DC08 has a maximum lifting capacity of 800kg and a pulling capacity up to 1300kg using an 8.3mm steel cable.
The Mid range Deltafor DC16 can lift up to 1600kg and pull up to 2600kg, using an 11mm steel cable
The largest model, the Deltafor DC32 can lift up to 3200kg but pull up to 5200kg, using a 16mm steel cable.
Only use steel cable advised by the manufacturer.
Deltafor Wire Rope Puller Features
The body is made from aluminium and thus is pretty light in weight, fairly compact and easy to handle and transport. It is worth noting that the weight you see in the specifications does not include the steel cable, so don't forget to factor this in too. (details in the specs above).
A removable anchoring pin is situated at the front end of the body, this provides an easy anchoring point. There is a quick jaw release mechanism (free mode lever) which enables cable to be fed through quickly, without restriction – ideal during set up of your operation.
Sheer pins are used as a safety mechanism, they will sheer off / break if the machine is overloaded. Should this happen the sheer pins can be replaced quite quickly so the machine can be used again. Be sure to inspect the wire rope and get it tested if it has been overloaded, it will probably need replacing.
Operation is simple with separate forward and reverse levers so the cable cab be pulled through the jaws in either direction. The forward motion lever is typically used the most so an extending handle is supplied for even easier operation.
Other Cable Pullers
There are many variations of this type of equipment available today with the original being the trusted Tirfor winch or Tirfor machine. Rope Services Direct supply the 3 key Tirfor winches, the TU8, TU16 and TU32 with the same capacities as the Deltafor and similar key features. Additions include a handle on the main body and a hook in place of an anchor pin on some models; longer cable lengths are also available.
